# Overview

Ask questions in plain language and get insights instantly, directly inside Claude or ChatGPT. BigGeo AI connects your data to your AI assistant so you can explore and analyze location-based data through natural conversation. No GIS or spatial analysis background needed.

## What You Can Do

Once connected, you can ask your AI assistant questions about your data in plain language. Here are some examples of what you can ask:

* "List my available datasets"
* "Find EV charging stations that have a Walmart store nearby in California"
* "Find hospitals near Central Park, New York"
* "How many hospitals are there in New York City?"

## Before You Start

To work with BigGeo AI, the data variant you use must have **BigGeo AI** enabled as an activation. Activations define where and how a variant can be used. Without BigGeo AI activation, a variant cannot be used with AI assistants.

This applies to variants you create yourself and variants you purchase through the Marketplace, instant offers, or interactive quotes. If you plan to use a variant with BigGeo AI, make sure it has BigGeo AI activation enabled before purchasing.
