# Create Datalab Space

Setting up a dedicated Datalab space in BigGeo Studio allows data providers to manage, publish, and monetize their geospatial datasets. Follow these steps to create and configure your Datalab space.

***

## Access the Datalab Spaces Section

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Navigate to the Sidebar**: In BigGeo Studio, go to the sidebar where each BigGeo product has its own section.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Select Datalab**: Click on the **Datalab** section in the sidebar to access all existing Datalab spaces and the option to create new ones.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

***

## Create a New Datalab Space

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Click “Create New Space”**: Within the Datalab section, select the **Create New Space** card to begin setting up your new space.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

***

## Enter Space Details

You’ll be prompted to provide essential details and customize your Datalab space:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Name Your Space**: Enter a unique name that represents the purpose or focus of this Datalab space.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Optional Description**: Add a brief description of this space to help team members understand its purpose (e.g., “We’re using this product to create and publish datasets for environmental research”).
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

***

## Configure Team Members and Permissions

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Add Team Members**: From the setup screen, invite team members to join the Datalab space.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Set Permissions**: Assign each member one of the following roles:

* **Admin**: Has full permissions, including managing team access, creating and editing datasets, setting pricing, and publishing datasets to Datascape.
* **Standard**: Can view and monitor datasets but does not have permission to create, edit, or publish datasets.
  {% endstep %}
  {% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note**: You must check each member’s box before setting their permissions.
{% endhint %}

***

**Step 5: Finalize and Launch the Datalab Space**

## Finalize and Launch the Datalab Space

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Review All Settings**: Double-check the space name, description, image, team access, and permissions to ensure they are accurate.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Create Space**: Click **Create Space** to confirm and launch your new Datalab space.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Navigate to the Datalab Space Portal**: Once the space is created, you’ll be directed to the dedicated space portal where you can start creating datasets and setting up your data listings.
{% endstep %}
